Bret Zvacek's new work premiered by Liebman, CNY Jazz Orchestra


"If a White Horse in Jerusalem," a new composition by alumnus Bret Zvacek, professor of music at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music, received its premier performance by saxophonist David Liebman and the Central New York Jazz Orchestra on April 16, 2011. One O'Clock Lab Band performances in May

The One O'Clock Lab Band returns to McDavid Studio on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 8:00 pm. The band will offer the audience a preview of brand new material to be recorded later this month on the forthcoming recording Lab 2011.

On Friday April 29 on the Jazz Stage, the One O'Clock Lab Band plays at 7, followed at 9 by a tribute to Leon Breeden by the Original Texas Jazz Orchestra, directed by James Riggs, with special guests Lou Marini, Marvin Stamm, and Tom "Bones" Malone.

Lab Band Madness happens on Saturday, April 30. It's part of the three days of performances by UNT jazz studies large and small ensembles, and other College of Music groups, at the UNT Showcase Stage. The complete schedule.

At 2:30 on Saturday April 30 the UNT Jazz Faculty play on the Jazz Stage.
