Stockton Helbing's CD "Lodestar" reviewed

Here's another review of "Lodestar," this time at jazzreview.com:

This is music that begs to be listened to over and over again, as the dense harmonies and striking chord progressions seem to reveal a little more of themselves with each revisit. A very exciting debut release.

April is Jazz Appreciation Month

April is Jazz Appreciation Month, sponsored by SmithsonianJazz.

While every month is jazz appreciation month at UNT Jazz, in April we go all out. The month starts with the North Texas Jazz Festival in Addison and closes with the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival. In between are Lab Band Madness and a whole lot of concerts by guest artists and student groups, plus student degree recitals.
