Vocal Jazz Forum takes place each Friday afternoon from 3:00 – 4:15 PM in Lab West (Room 282) in the fall and spring semesters. All vocal jazz majors are required to attend and will be schedule to participate in a “crew” rotation for the setup and teardown of equipment (a schedule is created). Undergraduate Jazz Voice majors are scheduled to perform starting in the semester after completing one semester of Vocal Jazz Techniques and will continue performing every semester until the recital semester. Graduate Jazz Voice majors will perform starting in the second semester of study.

Each performance will feature two jazz voice majors each performing for approximately 25 minutes with instrumental accompaniment of their choosing. Occasionally, there will be other activities in the forum, such as performances of transcriptions, virtual or live presentations by alumni, or other specialized topics of interest.
