Payawarú wins Latino Cultural Center Battle of the Bands

On April 28, 2012, Payawarú, the vocal group made up of Laura Otero, Carolyn Curry, Emily Merrell, Mónica Gastelumendi, MeeJee Jacoba, Michelle Alonso won the battle of the bands held by The Latino Cultural Center sponsored by Ford Motor Company. Their performance of Laura's arrangements of Colombian music earned the group $5,000.
