Mike Drake publishes two books on jazz drumming
Mike Drake, longtime adjunct instructor of jazz drumset at UNT, reports: "The two books that I recently completed writing are now printed and available for purchase (it only took three years!). Drummers, check out these books, as they are guaranteed to tie your brain and limbs in knots (the kind of stuff we love)! Ed Soph calls them “Dahlgren on steroids!”. There are 2136 exercises, as well as two CDs with 192 tracks in each book." The books are entitled Out On All Limbs Volume 1: Triplet Stickings, and Out On All Limbs Volume 2: Duplet Stickings.
He will celebrate the publication on Sunday, August 26:
