Jovino Santos Neto Gives Workshop for UNT Jazz Pianists

In his workshop for UNT jazz pianists, Jovino talked about internalizing the beat to such a strong degree that you can play a little of it or a lot of it, but it's always there, submerged like an iceberg, and you can decide how much of it you want to reveal. He also explained and demonstrated various Brazilian styles in order to expand the students' awareness beyond bossa nova. Photos by John Murphy.
