The UNT College of Music and Institute for the Advancement of the Arts present Thursday Night Music, an eclectic series of musical performances at UNT on the Square. Herbert Holl, director of the IAA, programs the performances, which will include a variety of groups from UNT's College of Music.

Thursday night Music returns to UNT on the Square in September and October

Who: UNT Institute for the Advancement of the Arts and College of Music present students, faculty and invited guests in concert
What: A series of weekly informal evening concerts
Where: UNT on the Square, 109 N. Elm
When: Every Thursday in September and October. Programs begin at 7pm
Admission: Free and open to the public

September 6 - An evening of UNT student composers and performers
7-8: Robert Hokamp – guitar; Jimin Lee - voice, Spenser Liszt - bass clarinet
8–9: Robert Trusko – UNT Student composer

September 13 – An evening devoted to the art and music of West Africa
7 – 7:30: Gallery talk by Elise Ridenour [focusing on the Cloth Talks African textile exhibition at UNT on the Square]
7:30: Koo Nimo – one of Ghana’s leading folk singers and Palm wine music performer (UNT guest artist and scholar)

September 20 – An evening with UNT Jazz Faculty
7 – 9: Fred Hamilton, guitar; Lynn Seaton, Ed Soph

September 27- A variety of musical genera and styles featuring UNT student performers
7-8: Fat Bottomed Brass tuba euphonium quartet (UNT student ensemble)
8-9: Sergio Pamies group (UNT students)

October 4 - UNT Jazz Faculty Quartet
7-9: Dan Haerle- piano; Brad Leali saxophone; Ed Soph- percussion, 4th performer tba

October 11- Music from Mexico
7-9: Guest performers from the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (Toluca) help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the UNT-UAEM partnership
